Autonomous Blimp and Truck

- Under my lead, engineering students created 2 autonomous vehicles within 8 weeks.
- An indoor, helium blimp was created with objectives of altitude control and wall following. It achieved modest control after some testing and control system refinement.
- An R/C truck was created with the objectives of following GPS waypoint and avoiding obstacles in its path. These goals were achieved at low speeds.
- All of these efforts were done while staying under the estimated budget.
Autonomous Fixed Wing Aircraft

- Under my lead, engineering students created an autonomous fixed wing aircraft within 12 weeks.
- An R/C model aircraft with heading control and moderate roll-axis control was created after some testing and control system refinement.
- The team also developed a computer simulation of our aircraft model, rudimentary GNC system, ground control station, and instrumentation needed for detecting orientation, location, airspeed, and altitude of the aircraft.
- All of this was done while staying under the estimated budget.
NextGen Space Station

- For this project, I primarily performed systems engineering (user/system requirements, design solutions/rationale)
- Expandable modules incorporated
- Operations of space station taken into account
- Also, I provided technical guidance to graphics artists/architects
- Graphics done using AutoCAD and 3D-Studio Max
- Design study (PDF format) located here: http://www.sicsa.uh.edu
Lunar Cargo Transport System

- For this project, I primarily performed systems engineering (user/system requirements, design solution/rationale)
- This system was designed to transport cargo for human habitation on the Moon
- Unique packaging and mechanism design chosen
- Operations of Lunar space exploration taken into account
- Graphics done using AutoCAD and 3D-Studio Max
- Design study (PDF format) located here: http://www.sicsa.uh.edu
